“Straight into the Tough Stuff”: Michelle Ang on New Episodes of Star Wars: The Bad Batch

The Omega we meet at the start of Season 3 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch is far different from the character’s debut three years ago. The bright-eyed young clone who excitedly discovered the galaxy beyond rainy Kamino has matured over the years, and now finds herself trapped in a secret Imperial medical base being forced to serve the Empire’s excruciating medical testing on other clones.

“Season 3 opens with Omega being separated from the Batch willingly because she recognizes not doing that endangers all the people that she loves,” says Michelle Ang, who voices the character. “That’s a pretty big call for a young character.” For Ang, the decision to give herself up at the end of Season 2 showcases how much the character has grown. “It shows that Omega’s

Star Wars: The Bad Batch's Executive Producers Gear Up for One Last Mission

It’s not easy being the Bad Batch, but lately it’s been especially rough. Last year on Star Wars: The Bad Batch, our favorite clone squad lost its brother and science whiz Tech, was betrayed by a supposed ally, and saw young Omega snatched by Imperial mad scientist Dr. Royce Hemlock. To borrow a phrase Obi-Wan Kenobi, they were dark times.

“When we first started this show, we had hoped that we could get three seasons to tell this story,“ executive producer and head writer Jennifer Corbett tells StarWars.com. „We kicked Season 1 off with Order 66 and the team trying to figure out where they fit in the galaxy. We knew Season 2 was going to be a little bit darker, because we knew that the team was going to lose

Dee Bradley Baker Looks Ahead to the Final Season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch

It’s hard to imagine the last decade-plus of Star Wars animation without Dee Bradley Baker. Starting with 2008’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars, he’s played several characters across many of Lucasfilm’s animated series, but as the voice of the Republic’s clones — all of them! — he’s been a constant presence. What’s proved most impressive is Baker’s ability to differentiate those clones through subtleties in his performance, from imbuing Rex with a sense of confidence to conveying Gregor’s quirks through a higher pitch.

But Baker has truly shined in Star Wars: The Bad Batch, playing five leading roles in the titular team of genetically-mutated clones: Hunter, the steady leader; Crosshair, the angsty loner; Wrecker, the hulking giant with a heart; Tech, the science whiz; and Echo, the cyborg soldier. These

Executive Producer Athena Portillo Talks Star Wars: The Bad Batch

It’s official: Athena Portillo loves Tech just as much as the rest of us.

The vice president of Animation Production for Lucasfilm and executive producer on Star Wars: The Bad Batch has a special affinity for the elite clone we first met in the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It’s no surprise given the more than a decade she’s spent overseeing the more technical aspects of animation production. “Tech will always be my favorite character,” Portillo tells StarWars.com. “I love everything about him. His wit, his directness, his intelligence, his honesty, and his logic in making the ultimate sacrifice for his brothers and Omega.”

That moment in the Season 2 finale, appropriately titled “Plan 99,” was a heartbreaker, but something the creative team felt would be an important and

Ships of the Galaxy: The Marauder

In “Ships of the Galaxy,” StarWars.com celebrates all the different kinds of craft across the saga. Strap in, punch it, and join us for the ride.

The Marauder is a modified Omicron-class attack shuttle that serves as the home base and gunship of Clone Force 99, also known as the Bad Batch. The elite clones used this vessel for several covert missions during the Clone Wars, relying on it for stealth, speed, and maneuverability. Following the war, the Marauder continues to propel them throughout the galaxy as they evade the Empire. (It also looks pretty cool!)
