We’ve all had to practice patience, but Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022 is finally around the corner. For some of us who are planning to attend, that means another looming topic is on our minds: Costumes!

Do you want to go as something classic like Princess Leia or Han Solo? Or do you want to properly honor the 20th anniversary of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones with a Count Dooku or Zam Wessell costume? Or maybe casual is more your style and you and two friends want to go as modern versions of Rey, Finn, and Poe? The options are endless!

Undoubtedly, some of the people reading this have been working on their costumes for this Celebration since dates were announced at the last Celebration. For those of you

Dispatches from the Halcyon: The Design of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

The design of the Star Wars galaxy — so often marked by the distinctly used-future feel of cobbled-together freighters and ancient architecture — posed a challenge for the creators of the Halcyon starcruiser. The high-class cruise ship inside Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, now open inside Walt Disney World Resort, called for something more akin to Lando Clarissian’s polished and pristine Millennium Falcon than Han Solo’s hard-used version.

“The design aesthetic actually bridges the prequel era with the original trilogy,” says Doug Chiang, vice president and executive creative director at Lucasfilm. “You have a combination of old forms, old materials with sleek materials and sleek forms. It’s very unique in the sense that this is one of the first ships that actually combine those two aesthetics.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi to Premiere May 27 with Two Episodes

We’ll soon say “Hello there!” to Obi-Wan Kenobi — a little later than expected, but with a surprise bonus.

Ewan McGregor, star of the Disney+ limited series as the titular Jedi Master, announced today that Obi-Wan Kenobi will now premiere on Friday, May 27. Instead of just one episode, however, fans will be treated to the first two installments at launch, with subsequent episodes debuting each Wednesday. Watch McGregor’s message below:

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, in which Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat — the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side and became the evil Sith Lord, Darth Vader.

Hands-On With LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Before our sneak peek of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, TT Games’ studio head Michael Denny introduces the game as the series’ “biggest” and “best” entry yet. Thirty or so minutes later, as I watch a playable rancor tear through Coruscant’s Federal Square, sending scared citizens scurrying in every direction, I realize he’s not kidding.

Of course, Denny’s claims are further confirmed during StarWars.com’s hands-on time with the game, where I take a number of the title’s new features for a test drive. While LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga adapts many of the same films that have already received the LEGO treatment in previous games, it’s offering an entirely fresh, updated take on the galaxy far, far away. Rebuilt and re-imagined from the ground up, it not only
