Heeeeere’s Poe! (And some of his friends and enemies.)

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales arrives this Friday, October 1, on Disney+, bringing Halloween-season scares to our galaxy. In celebration, Disney+ revealed today the special’s official poster, which showcases the fun-meets-frights spirit of the story. A clever homage to the classic The Shining, the poster features a zombie-like, axe-wielding battle droid breaking through a door, accompanied by a terrified Poe Dameron, pumpkin-colored BB-8, and more. Check it out below!

“It’s a Love Letter”: The Producers of Star Wars: Visions Celebrate the Unique Anime Collection

There is a moment in “The Duel,” the first short in the new Star Wars: Visions anthology, when the Sith Bandit jabs at a waterfall with her red lightsaber. Listen carefully and you’ll find the sound effect generated by the sizzling blade meeting the natural element matches another moment: when Darth Maul, separated from the Jedi by electro rays in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, tests the barrier for himself.

In “The Twins,” another short in the anime series, Karre’s armor sprouts several lightsaber-wielding mechanical arms, accompanied by a tone that Skywalker Sound designer David W. Collins called a “Grievous/Kylo cocktail,” producer Kanako Shirasaki recalls with a laugh, a familiar yet previously unheard blend of effects that helped create Kylo Ren’s unstable blade and General Grievous’s arsenal in the past.

Arturito and Me

I remember the exact moment. My mom looked at 12-year old me with a face that was equal parts disbelief and indifference. “No se llama Arturito?” she asked.

“No, his name isn’t Arturito,” I responded. “It’s R2-D2.” Turns out my mom, like many Latin American parents of kids born in the ‘70s and ‘80s, thought everyone’s favorite astromech droid was named Arturo (Spanish for Arthur) and affectionately nicknamed Arturito (Little Arthur).

In the original Latin American Spanish dub for Star Wars — or La Guerra de las Galaxias as the film was known in the Spanish-speaking world (literally “The War of the Galaxies”) — some of the names of our heroes, villains, planets, and ships were translated (many quite literally) while others simply weren’t. In Spanish, the Millennium Falcon is el

LEGO Star Wars Battles Brings Epic, Hilarious Minifigure Clashes to Apple Arcade

An Ewok versus Darth Vader? Leia versus Boba Fett? BB-8 versus R2-D2? The possibilities are endless, fun, and often times hilarious in LEGO Star Wars Battles, which launches today on Apple Arcade. In the new PVP strategy game, announced earlier this month, you’ll create your own army of Star Wars characters from across the saga and lead them into battle, resulting in some memorable matchups for LEGO Star Wars fans. But that just scratches the surface of a deep strategy experience. You’ll also master the Force (both sides), build a Droid Factory and more for instant backup, and collect over 40 vehicles to help you win. Only the greatest armchair Ackbars will emerge victorious. To mark the game’s release, StarWars.com caught up with Jason Avent, studio head of developer TT

Spoiler warning: This article discusses story details from the Star Wars: Visions episode “Tatooine Rhapsody.”

The beauty of an anthology series created by a variety of studios and directors is the array of styles, characters, and storytelling exemplified in the Star Wars: Visions shorts. As the lights come up on their ship, The Rolling
